Whitney Point voters approve sewer connection
Residents in the Whitney Point Central School District voted 278 to 14 Tuesday to approve a $400,000 project to connect the districts buildings to the Village of Whitney Points new sewage system. Work in the plan encompasses formally abandoning the existing septic systems and connecting to the new sanitation system, in preparation for the actual hookup to the municipal sewer system early next year. The district anticipates receiving about 98 percent reimbursement from state aid for the project. The remainder of the project will be paid with funds available as the result of debt reduction.
